This Cookies Policy explains how Bookme Online uses cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, on our website and applications (the 'Platform'), what they are used for, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Cookies set by us are called 'first-party cookies'. Cookies set by parties other than Bookme Online are called 'third-party cookies'; they enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the Platform.

We use a small number of cookies, described by category below. Some are strictly necessary for the Platform to operate ('essential' cookies) and do not require your consent. Statistics cookies are only used after you consent through our cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies.

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to work: keeping you securely signed in, showing the Platform in your language, remembering your cookie choices and, only while you start a subscription payment, helping our payment provider Stripe prevent fraud. Because they are strictly necessary, they cannot be switched off through our cookie banner, and refusing them in your browser will affect how the Platform works.

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and traffic sources, measure and improve the performance of the Platform, and see which pages are most and least popular. Google Analytics cookies are only set after you accept 'Statistics' in our cookie banner. Until then, Google Analytics runs without cookies and receives only limited, cookieless signals (Google Consent Mode). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we keep this data for 14 months. You can withdraw your consent at any time through 'Cookie preferences', which also deletes these cookies.

We do not use separate functional or preference cookies. Showing the Platform in your language is handled by the essential 'locale' cookie, which is deleted when you close your browser.

We do not currently serve advertising or use targeting/advertising cookies on the Platform. This section is included for transparency in case that changes in the future: any such cookies would only be set with your prior consent through our cookie banner, and this Policy would be updated first to describe the advertising partners involved.

This list is reviewed as the Platform changes. If we add other non-essential cookies, such as advertising cookies, we will update this table and this Policy before they are activated, and our cookie banner will ask for your consent first.

Besides cookies, the Platform keeps some information in your browser's local storage so it works smoothly: your basic profile and account type after you sign in, the workplace you selected, and a booking you started before signing in, so it can be completed afterwards. This information stays on your device, is strictly necessary for the features you use, and is removed when you sign out (a pending booking is removed once it is completed).

When you install the Platform as an app, it also keeps a copy of its own files on your device so it loads faster and works offline. This cache does not contain personal data.

Some pages load content from other providers, which receive your IP address as part of the request but do not set cookies through the Platform: map images from OpenStreetMap, map styles from the unpkg content delivery network, and, when a Business Owner searches for an address while adding a workplace, the search text is sent to Esri (ArcGIS) to find it on the map.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the 'Cookie preferences' link in the footer of the Platform or in your profile, where you can withdraw your consent to statistics cookies. You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies and local storage (usually under 'clear site data'); note that blocking the essential 'accessToken' cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use, or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we introduce a new category of non-essential cookie, we will update this Policy, and our consent banner will ask for your permission before that cookie is set. Please revisit this Policy periodically to stay informed.
